Kenmore is quickly becoming a vibrant hub for creativity and artistic expression in the Pacific Northwest. With a deepening commitment to community arts and culture, the city and it’s designated Local Arts Agency offers residents and visitors a variety of inspiring events and exhibits throughout the summer, and year round. August is an especially rich month for art and culture in Kenmore.

Kenmore Art Show: A Local Highlight

One of the standout cultural events of the season is the annual Kenmore Art Show, returning this year for two weekends in a row August 15  – August 17  and August 22–24. Hosted at Kenmore City Hall, this juried exhibition features works by regional artists across a range of mediums—from Photography, 2D Artwork, and Sculpture. Attendees can learn about the artists, enjoy live piano music on the Fridays each weekend, visit with community members, and even purchase unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate creativity while supporting the local arts community.

The Fifth Annual Kenmore Quickies Play Series: Theater in a Flash

From August 8–10, Kenmore’s theater scene takes center stage with the Kenmore Quickies – Play It By Ear! Eight playwrights, eight directors, and 14 actors come together to bring their talents to the stage for 4 performances, August 8-10. Funny, serious, a bit strange, and downright weird are all adjectives that can be used to describe this event.

Permanent and Rotating Art Spaces

Beyond seasonal events, Kenmore supports art year-round through its rotating gallery exhibitions at Kenmore City Hall lobby and the Catalyst Fine Arts Gallery located in The Lodge at St. Edward Park. These galleries highlight both emerging and established local artists, refreshing their collections regularly to provide a dynamic and evolving cultural experience.
