SUMMARY:Sound Healing
DESCRIPTION:Smriti is a Registered Nurse and advanced-level globally certified Practitioner of Holistic Medicine specializing in meditation and sound healing. With a foundation in healthcare and a lineage rooted in Ayurvedic and spiritual healing traditions\, she weaves ancestral wisdom with modern science.\nHer work integrates evidence-based medical principles with sound therapy and meditative practices that support nervous system regulation\, stress reduction\, and whole-person well-being. She is deeply passionate about bridging ancient healing traditions with modern research to create therapeutic experiences that are both soulful and scientifically informed. \nSound healing is an ancient modality that uses vibration\, frequency\, and rhythm to restore harmony within the body\, mind\, and spirit. Across cultures\, sound has long been a powerful tool for healing\, meditation\, and spiritual connection. Today\, emerging scientific research increasingly affirms what traditional systems have known for centuries. Sound and vibration can influence brainwave activity\, calm the nervous system\, and ease physiological stress responses. \nIn Smriti’s sessions\, sound healing is thoughtfully combined with guided meditation and breath awareness to encourage deep relaxation and nervous system balance. Using traditional Himalayan singing bowls\, crystal bowls\, chimes\, drums\, and other harmonic instruments\, participants are gently guided into a state of deep rest\, a space where clarity\, renewal\, and inner spaciousness can naturally unfold. \nParticipants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring anything that helps them feel supported\, such as a yoga mat\, blanket\, pillow\, eye mask etc. Most importantly\, come with an open heart and an open mind; ready to receive\, reconnect\, and return to yourself. \nCancellation policy– Cancellations will be honored up to 24 hours before the workshop. You will receive a credit to attend a future Sound Healing session. The credit will expire 4 months from the date purchased.

SUMMARY:Sunday of the Resurrection\, or Easter Day
DESCRIPTION:The people at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer welcomes everyone. We look forward to seeing you at this 10:30 am service of Holy Eucharist celebrating our Lord’s Resurrection at Church of the Redeemer. \nIt is in-person and on-line. The link to the service live cast is on the Welcome page of this website. \nAll are welcome to participate fully at Redeemer. \n\nAll races.\nAll religions.\nAll countries of origin.\nAll sexual orientations (including LGBTQ+).\nAll genders.\n\nEaster\nEaster is the feast of Christ’s resurrection. \nAccording to the Venerable Bede\, the word ‘Easter’ derives from the Anglo-Saxon spring goddess Eostre. Bede wrote that the month of April was was called Eosturmonath\, after Eostre. Some scholars debate this\, as Bede is the only historical source for this reason. \nThe more linguistic derivation of the name Easter comes from likely sharing a root with the Proto-Germanic word ‘austron\,’ meaning “dawn.” That word is also the root for the word “east.” \nEaster Day is the annual feast of the resurrection\, the pascha or Christian Passover\, and the eighth day of cosmic creation. Faith in Jesus’ resurrection on the Sunday or third day following his crucifixion is at the heart of Christian belief. Easter sets the experience of springtime next to the ancient stories of deliverance and the proclamation of the risen Christ. \nIn the west\, Easter occurs on the first Sunday after the full moon on or after the vernal equinox. Easter always falls between March 22 and April 25\, inclusive. Following Jewish custom\, the feast begins at sunset on Easter Eve with the Great Vigil of Easter. \nThe Eastern Orthodox Church celebrates Easter on the first Sunday after the Jewish pesach or Passover\, which follows the spring full moon. Although the two dates sometimes coincide\, the eastern date is often one or more weeks later. \nEaster also refers to the season of 50 days starting on Easter Day. The Ester season lasts through the Day of Pentecost. \n(Taken from Easter and Easter.)
