Stay Cool by the Water in Kenmore

Start at Log Boom Park, right where Kenmore meets the top of Lake Washington. Grab a coffee, watch a floatplane lift off the water, and let the pier set the pace for the day. The Burke-Gilman Trail runs right along the park, so once you’re ready to move, you don’t need the car again. 

WhatsSup Standup Paddle & Surf

For time on the lake itself, WhatsSup Stand Up Paddle and Surf rents paddleboards right at Log Boom. No roof rack, no planning, just walk down and get on the water while the lake’s still calm. Give it an hour or two before the rest of the day pulls you east. 

Before you leave the harbor, stop into the gift shop at Kenmore Air Harbor, the oldest operating seaplane base in the state. It’s a small stop, but it’s the one souvenir you genuinely can’t get anywhere else. 

Head east along the trail toward ƛ̕ax̌ʷadis (Tl’ awh-ah-dees) Park, where boardwalks carry you out over Swamp Creek and restored wetlands. It’s the quiet stretch of the day, and the one most people remember afterward. 

From there, the trail spills you into Brew Row. Postdoc Brewing Kenmore sits steps off the path with a dog and family friendly beer garden and food trucks that rotate through most days. A short walk away, Copperworks Distilling pours flights, cocktails, wine and local beers on tap.  They partner with De La Soil and Ember (opening August 2026), serving farm-to-table dinners, an easy place to let the day end without one more decision.
